When You Can’t Figure Out Who You Are As A Whole Figure Out The Pieces

We live in a world where we can ask Siri or Alexa a question, but not be able to find the answer to some of the most basic questions like, who are we? How can we lose ourselves when we carry a mobile GPS with us everywhere we go? We are in the midst of a web of information, updates, and networks, but they can’t search our soul and give us answers. As news feed consumers we can get lost in a plethora of activity that does nothing to help us understand who we are apart from everything.

How do we learn? I learned to read by first learning the alphabet and about the sounds of each letter. I learned how to bake a cake by understanding something about each ingredient, how to measure the right amount, and mixing them together. I learned to play the flute by learning the notes on a page, how to use the instrument, play the notes, about pitch, tone, and then by putting it altogether.
