When The World Goes Crazy Eat Like They Did In The Signs Movie

The scene of the movie is reminiscent of our times. Alien forces threaten the world and the lives of good loving families. There is a shadow over the world. An enemy no one quite understands. It draws near to its victims and reveals itself when it gets close to them. There is that underlying feeling of doom. At any moment it’s all going to go south and the enemy is going to take people with it.

We get to the point of the movie where we understand what has been hiding in the shadows. It becomes apparent that the alien force is going to attack. The family prepares for the attack and decides to prepare a last supper. A meal where everyone eats their favorite food or what they are craving. The world may end tomorrow and if it does let’s say that we ate what we wanted. What else do you do the night before aliens come down and try to kill you? Who the hell knows, right? May as well eat good.

The scene is beautiful. The dad, Graham, has a cheeseburger with bacon. Good call. His brother, Merrill, has chicken teriyaki. Graham’s son Morgan has French toast and mashed potatoes and his daughter has spaghetti. A wonderful carb feast. The food is prepared and the family gathers to enjoy the meal. Tensions are high because of the obvious reason for having a last supper and a fight ensues. No one ends up really enjoying their food at all, but they tried, and for that I applaud them.
