Thanks for the wonderful comments Esther! I really appreciate you taking the time to read and I’m glad it was helpful. It is hard letting go of traditions. I had three of my four kids move to different states and when that happened that made me evaluate how we would handle holidays and seeing one another. My mom has been adamant my whole life, 52 years, that we would show up to her house for holidays and events, and as the family has grown and we have matured we have wanted new things, but she insists its done her way, and now she has four adult children who no longer want to come over. I am trying to learn to do things a different way so that my kids are free to live their own lives and when we do get together we mutually agree what we want to do. Take care.
