Vincent Van Gogh worked 8–12 hours a day painting, but many hated him because he refused to work a normal job. He concentrated on his painting to the point of starvation. Some believed he was mad. If you want to show people what being obsessive looks like show them Vincent. If you want to show an example of perseverance in the face of many obstacles, and despite the hatred of others, show them this man.

Here is a man who painted because he had to. He didn’t just state a goal he lived it. I am a painter and despite almost starving I am going to paint. He couldn’t build an Instagram following or monetize his art blog. He painted when no one was looking. If you aren’t sure what to write, get up and go out to your work area, and just do it like Vincent. There is so much we can mine from his life and his art.
