Everyone I Know Thinks Work Is Bull Crap & Is Ready To Quit

This is all bull shit. I nod my head in agreement and listen to a co-worker rant about how stupid everything is. I couldn’t agree more and am so excited she has figured this out in her 30’s, while it took me COVID and hitting 50 before I did.

As she goes back to simmer my daughter texts to say all work is bull shit. I am in agreement. Her design job isn’t a design job, her employer is trying to get her job to be “more”, but for right now just forget your portfolio and update these word documents.

Mom, why am I working on a bachelor degree in this bull crap? None of it means anything anymore, this isn’t what I was created to do.

Over the weekend I visit her and we try to make something out of life. A visit to a book shop, a nice coffee, some Pho, and time by the water. It’s a good weekend and we pretend everything is right in the world and these two days away from work are actually going to help us recoup.

They don’t. Back to work and back to dealing with a bunch of pissed off people who are taken advantage of, pissed on, and used. I don’t care what work was 20 years ago. It’s not that now. Something changed.
