Effective Self-Editing In The World Of Blogging and Self-Publishing
I tread lightly on this subject as an amateur writer myself. Understanding that I do not work in the world of academic press and do not have the experience of writing a book let alone editing it. I understand there is a world out there that exists that I know nothing about, but like thousands of other bloggers and self-publishing fanatics I understand the need to learn how to effectively self-edit what I write. Even in learning to write research papers for my Master’s I was never taught how to edit. Perhaps it’s because I was concentrating on business instead of fine arts. It’s a shame because anyone who writes in our modern world context needs to be able to edit.

A sphere of the world is telling bloggers to post daily which leaves no room for activities that are important to good writing. Like reading, resting, thinking, and editing. When we are supposed to churn out enough content to keep up with the tempo of social media it’s going to be hard to add some serious time to self-editing, but we manage to get it in somehow. Getting a serious education in self-editing is trial by fire. It works, but hopefully in the long run we will consider taking some courses, like these, to up our game:
